    Junior Character Animators

    Jellyfish would love to hear from talented recent animation graduates or students graduating this year. You will need to be hard working, versed in the skills of character animation and have a willingness and enthusiasm to learn and produce great work quickly. You must be comfortable working in Maya and a familiarity with a CG/live action pipeline would be a bonus. The contract would be for a year, possibly more. This is a fantastic opportunity to get a lot of character animation experience in a fast paced highly creative environment working with a great team on an exciting project. You will be required to complete a short test for us and must provide an existing showreel for our consideration. The post will be based in London.

    Lighting Artists (Mid / Junior) – Multiple roles

    Jellyfish Animation are looking for a Junior / Mid level Lighting Artists for Bitz and Bob and Floogals (Series 2)

    The roles are suited to candidates with some previous experience on a full CG series. Additional tasks will include breaking down shots into passes and AOVs, setting up the lighting based on the look defined by the master-shots. The Lighting Artists work under the supervision of the CG Supervisor and to the creative brief as set by the Creative Lead.

    Requirements:
    • A strong understanding of Lighting and screen composition, in a story telling environment.
    • 1 – 2+ years as a Lighting Artist.
    • Full production knowledge of Maya, Redshift or Vray, Nuke.
    • Practical working knowledge of Passes, AOVs and render management.

    Desirable:
    • Experience in pipeline scripting and creating tools for the pipe
    • Working knowledge of Arnold
    • Showreel essential

    The roles will be based in Brixton or Oval, South London.

    Jellyfish Animation are looking for Character Animators to work across two series of animation: Dennis & Gnasher, Bitz & Bob and Floogals (Series 2).

    Jellyfish would love to hear from talented Character Animators, with at least 2 -3 years’ experience. You will need to be hard working, well versed in the skills of character animation and have a willingness and enthusiasm to learn and produce great work quickly. You must be experienced in Maya and have an ability to work across a variety of character animation styles. This is a fantastic opportunity to build upon your character animation experience in a fast paced highly creative environment working with two great teams on exciting projects. The posts will be based in South London at both Jellyfish Animation studios (Oval and Brixton).

    We are particularly interested in hearing from candidates who can adapt quickly to various animation styles and new rigs.

    We are offering long contracts with start dates in May, June and July.  Please state your availability when applying and specify what contract length you’re interested in.

    You may be required to complete an animation test.

    Animation Editor

    This role is based in our Brixton office and runs ASAP through to the early 2018.

    To run all areas of project from ingesting of storyboards and editing of the animatic, through to final delivery to post-production house.  Extensive experience of Adobe Premier is essential. You will work closely with the Series Director to set the pace and feel of the episodic stories. The role is also supported by an edit assistant to allow the time needed for the creative input necessary to the role.

    The successful candidate will be knowledgeable about all aspects of codecs, formats, plates and colour. Excellent communication, organisational skills and comic timing are absolutely essential.

    Essential skills required:

    • Comic timing and animation storytelling skills
    • Voice record editing.
    • At least three years’ experience using Adobe Premier
    • Data format conversion
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
    • Good communication skills
    • Ability to handle a fast paced and occasionally high pressure environment
    • Accuracy and attention to detail
    • Ability to use initiative and prioritise work loads
    • Problem analysing and solving
    • Archiving and restoring data when required

    Responsibilities:

    • Creating initial cut from ingested storyboards, working with the Director to create a fine cut
    • Preparing and exporting locked animatics to Shotgun using custom in-house software
    • Updating episode projects with any shot length alterations – post animation reviews.
    • Updating episode projects with new batches of animations.
    • Exporting episode videos for reviews and pick up sessions.
    • Keeping pick-up spreadsheet up to date.
    • Prep and export project for sound design and composers.
    • Adding premixes to final picture.
    • Quality control reviews of final episodes prior to deliver to the online facility.

    Additional editing tasks as may be required.
