    Animation Edit Assistant

    Jellyfish Animation is currently looking to recruit an Animation Edit Assistant to assist in all areas of project ingesting and delivery.

    Good knowledge and experience of Adobe Premier is essential. You will work to the Animation Editor’s brief and support him in all editing tasks, as required.

    The successful candidate will be knowledgeable about all aspects of codecs, formats, plates and colour. Excellent communication and organisational skills are absolutely essential.

    This position is for January 2017 until June 2018.

    Essential requirements

    o Technical skills and at least one year’s experience using Adobe Premier
    o Archiving and restoring data when required
    o An interest in developing skills and to progress within a VFX company
    o Data format conversion
    o Ability to work independently and as part of a team
    o Good communication skills
    o Ability to handle a fast paced and occasionally high pressure environment
    o Accuracy and attention to detail
    o Ability to use initiative and prioritise work loads
    o Problem analysing and solving

    Edit Responsibilities:

    • Moving uploaded storyboards from the FTP to our in house system
    • Listening through the radio plays (and potentially raw takes) for suitable audio walla and then exporting to walla library.
    • Help Create walla library.
    • Preparing first draft animatics.
    • Uploading versions of Cuts to Wetransfer.
    • Assuring all Slates are correctly prepared, with correct dates, versions and outputs.
    • Preparing and exporting locked animatics to Shotgun using custom in-house software
    • Updating episode projects with any shot length alterations – post animation reviews.
    • Updating episode projects with new batches of animations.
    • Exporting episode videos for reviews and pick up sessions.
    • Keeping pick-up spreadsheet up to date.
    • Track laying episodes before they get sent off for mixing.
    • Adding premixes and final mixes to projects.
    • Double checking final episodes before they get sent to the online facility.
    • Additional assistant editing tasks as required.
    • Opening up or locking up Studio at top or end of day.
    Please note that the position is based at our animation studio in Oval, London.

    Lighting Lead

    Jellyfish Animation are looking for a Lighting Lead for a pre-school TV series that is being produced for the BBC. The role begins with setting up the initial look and feel of the show and then goes on to leading the team throughout series production.

    This is a senior role, suited for someone with previous experience as a lead on a full CG series. Ideally the candidate will also have previous look development experience. Additional roles will include breaking down shots into passes and AOVs, rebuilding the shots in Comp, setting up master-shots and templates for junior artists and working with art director to translate the conceptual look of the shot to screen.

    Requirements:

    • A strong understanding of Lighting and screen composition, in a story telling environment.

    • 2-3 years as a Lead Lighting Artist.

    • Full production knowledge of Maya, Redshift, Nuke

    • Previous experience in shot look development

    • Practical working knowledge of Passes, AOVs and render management.

     

    Desirable:

    • Experience in pipeline scripting and creating tools for the pipe

    • Working knowledge of Arnold, VRAY

    • Showreel essential
